Open Mic Nights

Soon I'll be moving to Melbourne and just wanted to know if anybody knows any decent open mic nights to play at?

they still do them on tuesday nights. however call up beforehand just in case a gig is booked for the night.

the empress does good open mics, the arthouse on the other hand states get their at 8.30 and then they dont start till 9.30 and its all over the shop.

and get there early at the empress. they started taking names tonite at 7:15 and i got thre a couple of minutes later and the best slot was 11.30pm. so i thought feck that.

pity, took me 45 minutes to get there. give that a miss from now on!

The Great Britain in Richmond now runs open mics, apparently. A friend of mine has been going recently and says it's good. Might head down and check it out myself in the next couple of weeks.

Yeah I run an Open Mic at ET's Hotel (211 High St, Prahran) on Friday nights if you're interested. Sign up starts at 7.30pm or you can reserve a slot at openmic@etshotel.com.au if you would like. Sets are generally 4 songs long. Cheers!
