I dislike Rob Oakeshott, in fact, I'm opposed to what was a pivotal decision, resting in the hands of a few independents.

The truth is that if so many Australians were disillusioned by Labor, why are they in power? We should have gone back to election........but what difference does it make? The public are clueless and the hung parliament was out of their hands. Oh well, politics reigns.

Ambrose, I have to say that I don't hold high regard for Liberal but they were the better option here as far as I was concerned. It is most interesting because the Green/Independent watchdogs will no doubt improve parliament but only by wielding modest power....No party on their own is self regulating. No party can be trusted with absolute autonomy.

I agree with someone's proposal that all election campaign funding should be capped. additionally, I think all parties should receive adequate exposure.

The indies apparantly favoured Libs all along. They actually went with Abbott for essentially only one reason - that they believed he'd call a quickie election, but didn't think Gillard would, due to her having too much to lose. D'ya believe that shit?

Abbott can rest easy I think. He got 700,000 more votes than did Gillard. Next time baby.
