Mosque on 9/11 site

More evidence of the subversive nature of cultural relativism and political correctness. Sorry, it's a Muslim centre, not a mosque |

RE: Mosque on 9/11 site
I've been following that story for a couple of months now. Jon Stewart's been airing segments on The Daily Show - and apparantly it's not actually ON the nine eleven site, but a few blocks away. I don't know, one of America's constitutional rights is "freedom of religion" so I actually cannot see the problem. But I can imagine how it's an emotive issue for Americans and therefore for Obama to back it, is possibly quite insensitive.

It will be viewed by the Islamic world as a victory. A symbol of America's capitulation, and will encourage further attacks.
This scene didn't actually make it to the final cut. I'm sure it'll be on the DVD. |

But America's constitution has them tied. Legally it's already a victory. I bet when the so called founding fathers put that clause into the constitution, they weren't thinking a long way ahead. Actually Obama's flippin' and floppin' on the issue, this just in - http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/...ion=justin |

RE: Mosque on 9/11 site
Apart from the leeway the constitution gives, one would think the Muslims would show respect and not even consider the project. Obama will flip flop because he's a populist like any left of/right of centre politician.
I agree with System. This will be seen as a victory not only for Muslims but for Muslim apologists who take pleasure in anti-American symbolism. |

Fraught with problems the whole thing. Actually, I've thought long and hard about this, and if I were to be blunt about what I thought about Islam, I wouldn't do it on a public forum like this one.

Go ahead, this forum isn't public. It's just live to our bedrooms.
