best comedy series ever created?
Ok... here's the top 15 (anything outside of this is excrement)
1. Fawlty Towers
2. Black Adder ( 1, 2 & 3 series only)
3. Extras
4. The League of Gentlemen
5. Father Ted
6. Monty Python
7. Not the Nine O'clock news
8. The Office (U.K)
9. Little Britain (first & second series ONLY)
10. Alan Partridge (second series)
11. Arrested development
12. Black Books
13. Get Smart
14. the peep show
15. The Simpsons

Don't bother arguing.. or submitting cack handed tripe like 'Friends' or 'Seinfeld'. Arsehats.

This scene didn't actually make it to the final cut. I'm sure it'll be on the DVD.

The Big Train

Very very good, but short lived series. Had some British luminaries starring before they went on to do things like "Shaun of the Dead" and "Dead Set"

I agree with most of these except for Get Smart.

Haven't seen Arrested Development or The Peep Show.

I would also add The Young Ones to the list and possibly the Goodies, although I'm not sure if I'm adding The Goodies because it was that funny or because of the warm and fuzzy childhood memories it gives me.

Probably the latter on the Goodies.

What about:
The Fast Show
Absolute Power
A Bit Of Fry and Laurie
Alas Smith and Jones
Now Have I Got News For You
Bottom

Dunno if those all made their way here or not.

The Young ones was too juvenile.. ..and the jokes were lame.
The Goodies was more slapstick... i think you've got rose tinted glasses on.

Have I got news...is not strictly a comedy series...rather a topical satire based chat show.
Bottom was rubbish..admit it.
I'll give you Fry and Laurie ( although it was a little hit and miss)
Alas smith and jones was a little obvious... jokes for tradesmen.

This scene didn't actually make it to the final cut. I'm sure it'll be on the DVD.

RE: best comedy series ever created?
Cleese had a nervous break down shortly after their breakup.

To be honest, his on screen wife, sybil, was quite fetching in a forbidden kind of way.

Sorry to digress.

Did anybody like keeping up appearances?
